    important champs info!!

    Hello families!

Champs is in two days, and we hope your swimmers are getting very excited. We have received info from VPSU today and wanted to forward on to you all ASAP. Here are some highlights -

Volunteers: We will need to supply two timers for AM and one timer for PM. Also for the AM session is one Deck Marshall and one to assist parking. Please see the attachment with jobs we have already been assigned (i.e, the meet cannot run without these roles filled). Not listed are Stroke and Turn officials, which Morgan Kader has already volunteered to do (PM session). Please email us before Saturday to let us know if you can time, assist with parking, or serve as deck marshal.

Warm-Ups: We’ve been assigned Lanes 3/4 for Warm-ups starting at 0800 for AM and same lanes starting at 1200 for the afternoon. We’ve been assign one block in the parking area that is supposed to allow us to pitch Two 10x10 canopies. The Meadow and Stanhope families have agreed to each supply one of these tents.

For more info regarding food, deck setup, and Champs spectator policies, please read below and see attachments.

    General Info for Champs:
    (1) FoodaTude food truck will be on site Saturday from approximately 7 a.m. through the end of the meet (~3/4 p.m.). Non-cooked light concessions (snacks/drinks) will also be offered on site. See attached map for both locations.
    (2) The swimmers’ entrance to the pool will be through the double doors on the 757 Patio (see attached map).
    (3) Families may park in the Wisc parking lot but should not walk through the Wisc facility to reach the pool building at the back. Please ask families to walk around the outside of the building to reach the pool.
    (4) Parents/spectators may enter the pool building to watch their swimmers’ events through the 757 Lobby (see attached map). Once their swimmer's event has concluded, they should exit through the back right door of the pool (see attached map).
    (5) The events will also be streaming on a YouTube channel. The QR code for the YouTube channel is on the attached map.
    (6) VPSU will not be printing programs this year. A digital copy of the program is available online at https://vpsu.swimtopia.com/sites/s3_files/54244. There will also be a QR code provided to access the program. Signs with the QR code will displayed throughout the pool facility.
    (7) Teams may set up tents in front of the 757 Pool on Friday between 3-6 p.m. A map of parking spot assignments is attached. The number of spots assigned was calculated based on the number of athletes participating per team. Parking spaces can support 10x10 tents two deep (with legs crossing into the adjacent space).

    Team Volunteer Assignments:
    (1) Please see the attached volunteer assignment document. The number of volunteers assigned per team was calculated based on the number of athletes participating per team.
    (2) Please provide stopwatches for each of your team’s timer assignments. There will be a limited number of backup stopwatches available.
    (3) There will be a volunteer check-in station. Please send volunteers to the check-in station during each session’s warm-ups so that we can mark them off and provide them with any necessary materials required to complete their volunteer task.
